The chili in this context is co notated with local cuisine. Some say that food in Lombok is spicy and has strong taste. The main food in Lombok is Ayam Taliwang in local word means grilled chicken. Another meaning of Lombok is straight.
This word is stressed to the local people to behave and having good manner and obey the rules applicable in their society. Taliwang Chicken is even more appetizing when accompanied with local side dishes such as plecing (water spinach with tomato-chili relish) and beberuk (eggplant in chili sauce). Priced at Rp 15,000-25,000 for a full portion, Ayam Taliwang can be found in nearly all eateries in Mataram.

Plecing Kangkug is food which combined with Taliwang Chicken. Plecing kangkung or water spinach is consist of water spinach, bean sprouts, and in the top is added hot blended chili. If you like chili, it would be very delicious.

Actually Suranadi park is located in near Narmada Park or Mayura Park. We can go there by car, it needs 15 minutes. More information, While you are driving a car, you can see people who selling seasonal fruit in street side, likes jack fruit, Duran, rapiah etc.




when you arrive there, at first, i suggest you, is swimming in Suranadi Pool. Based on native people there, this pool is used to King and Queen to swimming. So very lucky if you can try to swim there. i think the water is cool but comfort by our body, because it come from water of Rinjani mountain. If you don't want to swim, you can wash your face or take a shower in Shower Suranadi

The weather so cool, it make us hungry. actually after you finish swim. My suggest is you must try "Sate". Sate is traditional menu in Indonesia. it is made from chickens or cows meat which these meat is twisted in stick. it is delicious food, I think. The important you can eat and take a rest in veranda it's called Berugag

Then Do you need snack handicrafts or souvenirs? Don't worry, Suranadi is famous with the snacks handicraft, likes Dodol and Candies are also fruits-based such as Jack fruit and Soursop. Most of the snacks are either sold in plastic packs already or you can ask for specific weight of how many snacks you would like to get. These snacks are not expensive whatsoever and they certainly taste interesting in good ways. for my note, do bargain when purchasing!

Lombok is famous with awesome beautiful beach. One of them famous beach is Seger Beach. Seger Beach is located on southern Lombok Island. it's about 65 Kilometers from Mataram. The Seger beach is near from Kute(Kuta)Beach. It's nice trip, when you pass the coastline. If you love to climb the Hill, The Seger Beach is the best place to being chosen. Who is Princess Mandalika?
In Indonesia, every Island has important legend. Fortunately, Lombok island has Legend of Princess Mandalika. Based on native people, In Lombok Island lived a daughter of King . She was named Princess Mandalika. The princess has good looks that attracted many kings and prince of the royal neighbors to marry her.
But, it is not easy to marry with her, they must prepare a strategic in the war, to defeat their rivals. The war has made a chaos, and there many people dead. After she know the condition, The Princess who didn't want bloodshed in King kahuripan Kingdom, She decided to sacrifice herself. She run to hilltop on the edge of the southern ocean and She flung herself from top of the hill. Princess Mandalika's body disappear into the ocean and nobody could find the Princess body. After the incident, around the coast appeared multiply of sea worms. These worms spread almost along the south coast of Lombok Island. Native people call these worms as "Nyale" and they believe that Nyale is the incarnation of Princess mandalika.

Then What Is Bau Nyale(Catching Nyale) Festival?

After the mystery of Princess Mandalika Body disappeared and it became multiply worms, Native people could forget their dear princess, since then the festival is organized in certain time of the year.


The Sasak People believe that the princess visit them every year. At Seger Beach she comes and in the form of the little, colourful sea worms,the beautiful strands of her hair appears. These worms festival has been noticed that they appear usually on the 19th day of the 10th month according to the calendar of Sasak lunar, actually every on February in this time. Sasak people think that the more they can catch the Nyale worms, the better will be the harvesting of the year.

Kuta Lombok Beach

Kuta Lombok Beach is different with Kuta Bali. Kuta Lombok Beach famous with white sand and located in rounded by hill. You can arrive there at Noon, if you start in the morning from Mataram city. it needs about 2-2.5 Hours. You can prepare accommodation, actually for lunch, because foods is hard to find on the way. Sendang Gila Waterfall - Lombok Island












Sendang Gila waterfall Location is at about 600m above sea level. The waterfall is an easy 20 minute walk down a graded trail and steps from Senaru Village. For the more adventurous, the “second waterfall” Tiu Kelep, is another hour’s walk upriver from Sendang Gila. The scramble over rocks through the tropical forest is rewarded by the beauty of the waterfall and a swim in its deep pool.

Malimbu Hill - Little Heaven Lombok Island

Malimbu Hill is located near with Senggigi Beach, it stands in a row senggigi littoral area. That is one highland area in West Lombok district, West Nusa Tenggara province. Malimbu faces to a white sand beach, it makes tourism destination from any country, likes America and Australia.

For honeymooner or some couples who want to celebrate their relationship with true moment and they want take pictures, its an ideal location. Either local or foreign tourists come to Malimbu to catch the photograph. it offers you such as pounding waves, green mountain, range of small islands and sunset. Sengigi Exsotic Beach

Lombok has many exsotic beach, but the famous is Senggigi Beach. It need about 1.5 hours from Mataram city, and 30 minutes from Ampenan city. If we want ride to there, we can use traditional vehicle, its called Cidomo. It maybe need more than 30 minutes. Its rather slow than we use Bemo. Bemo is car with yellow colour, the other ones main transportation.

Senggigi is the most developed tourist area in Lombok. When the sunsets come, you can enjoy them from the beach or from one of the beachfront restaurants. The bays are ideal for swimming snorkeling and other popular water activities. Senggigi can be broadly divided into three parts: northern Mangsit Beach, central Senggigi and the southern stretch near Batu Bolong, with headlands separating the three. Mangsit has quiet resorts and very little other development, while nightlife and other restaurants are concentrated in Senggigi and the Batu Bolong area.

The Mayura Holiness Park
