I think, This Gili has alot of activity, we can doing there. Lombok is famous with awesome beautiful beach. One of them famous beach is Seger Beach. Seger Beach is located on southern Lombok Island. it's about 65 Kilometers from Mataram. The Seger beach is near from Kute(Kuta)Beach. It's nice trip, when you pass the coastline. If you love to climb the Hill, The Seger Beach is the best place to being chosen. I think it makes tourism will comeback this Island. Not only we can swim in clear and calm water of the beach, but Seger has a fantastic Panorama when the Sunset time.

Who is Princess Mandalika?
In Indonesia, every Island has important legend. Fortunately, Lombok island has Legend of Princess Mandalika. Based on native people, In Lombok Island lived a daughter of King . She was named Princess Mandalika. The princess has good looks that attracted many kings and prince of the royal neighbors to marry her.
But, it is not easy to marry with her, they must prepare a strategic in the war, to defeat their rivals. The war has made a chaos, and there many people dead. After she know the condition, The Princess who didn't want bloodshed in King kahuripan Kingdom, She decided to sacrifice herself. She run to hilltop on the edge of the southern ocean and She flung herself from top of the hill. Princess Mandalika's body disappear into the ocean and nobody could find the Princess body. After the incident, around the coast appeared multiply of sea worms. These worms spread almost along the south coast of Lombok Island. Native people call these worms as "Nyale" and they believe that Nyale is the incarnation of Princess mandalika.

Then What Is Bau Nyale(Catching Nyale) Festival?

After the mystery of Princess Mandalika Body disappeared and it became multiply worms, Native people could forget their dear princess, since then the festival is organized in certain time of the year.


The Sasak People believe that the princess visit them every year. At Seger Beach she comes and in the form of the little, colourful sea worms,the beautiful strands of her hair appears. These worms festival has been noticed that they appear usually on the 19th day of the 10th month according to the calendar of Sasak lunar, actually every on February in this time. Sasak people think that the more they can catch the Nyale worms, the better will be the harvesting of the year.

Kuta Lombok Beach

Kuta Lombok Beach is different with Kuta Bali. Kuta Lombok Beach famous with white sand and located in rounded by hill. You can arrive there at Noon, if you start in the morning from Mataram city. it needs about 2-2.5 Hours. You can prepare accommodation, actually for lunch, because foods is hard to find on the way. It's the major centre of tourism development on south coast, but it still have a few permanents residents. The four-star Novotel Lombok is there to give serve with range of creature comforts.

At Noon, when you arrive in there. You will see hill surround the Kuta Lombok. The weather is hot, but you will find that people sell coconut. It make feel fresh again.
View of this beach very great one's. Blue sea is combined with white Pepper sand. The sand size likes a pepper. So some business use this sands in selling sea products. Home made Aquarium and some high class home loves use that to accessories creative model.

Then if you are Driving down to the south coast, you will pass through small farming villages, and The north coast is more lush and green, It has the mountain catch the clouds, and whereas the south is much drier, with smaller mountains and large areas of flat land.

Sendang Gile Waterfall - Lombok Island

Sendang Gila Waterfall - Lombok Island












Sendang Gila waterfall Location is at about 600m above sea level. The waterfall is an easy 20 minute walk down a graded trail and steps from Senaru Village. For the more adventurous, the “second waterfall” Tiu Kelep, is another hour’s walk upriver from Sendang Gila. The scramble over rocks through the tropical forest is rewarded by the beauty of the waterfall and a swim in its deep pool.

Guys, Why we call Sendang Gila? Gila is Crazy. Based on true story, One day when the original inhabitant hunted the crazy lion. The crazy Lion run a muck to the forest, and, they find this waterfall.

More information about Sendang Gile waterfall is people who look for the waterfall, they want to take bath with the water. They trust that if we take bath, the water will give a magic power to make you become keep young.

Three Gili's in Heaven Island

The Gili Islands, Lombok, Indonesia

The Gilis island are an archipelago of three small island in the northwest coast of Lombok, Indonesia. They are Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air.
We can call them as Turtle capital of the world, because when they are being watched by plane in the sky, islands like as Turtle cranium.

Each Island has several very small resorts, usually consisting of a small collection of huts for tourists, and restaurants. If we want to ride all side of island, it possible by traditional vehicle called Cidomo is bicycle or the horse-drawn carriage. You who like to diving in and around the gilis is also popular due to the abundance of fish life.


Gili Trawangan.


Gili Trawangan is the largest of Lombok's Gili Island. Trawangan has the most tourist facilities. On Gili Trawangan, there no motorized vehicles. The main of transportation are bicycles(rented by locals to tourist) and Cidomo9a small horse drawn carriage). Gili Meno is the middle of Lombok's three Gilis. It has swimming beaches all around the island, as well as an impressive bird sanctuary. Gili Meno is the quietest and smallest of the Gilis. However, honeymooners are often drawn to the crystal clear water and idyllic, secluded white beaches. The island of Lombok in the West Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia is often compared to Bali, which is actually across the Lombok Strait. And while there are many similarities, the two lands are quite different. The majority of the population in Lombok is actually Sasak, but when they arrived or where they came from is lost to time. It is likely that these migrant peoples likely first showed up sometime in the 13th or 14th century from Java. The culture today is based on a local version of Islam that has many added elements of Hinduism as well as Wektu Telu tribal beliefs also mixed in.
The majority of the population is Sasak, both culturally and linguistically, but there are also members of the Wektu Telu people’s there as well, and these people practice a unique form of Islam. The name of this group actually means “Three Prayers,” and this is because they pray three times a day, instead of the five times as required by the Quran.
The people of Lombok are very polite and the island resort is very welcoming of tourists. It is important to note that this is a Muslim nation, so the standard traditions of Islam should be observed. The left hand for example is considered unclean, and as handshakes are customary for both males and females you should avoid using your left hand to exchange items or carry food. Shoes must be removed when entering a mosque or visiting someone’s home, and women should avoid exposed skin or tight fitting clothing. This is very important when away from the beaches or tourist area. Alcohol does flow in Lombok, but visitors should understand that public intoxication is a serious offense. Generally however the island of Lombok is one of a unique and old culture, and tourism today is a major part of the economy so visitors should expect a warm greeting, and people that are happy to have you visit their home.
